COVID Effect

How has COVID effected local businesses.

COVID Effect has certainly affected all our business but what about the way forward. The LIVE courses particularly the 3 modules over 3 evenings option have been well received, well reviewed but still very slow bookings.

July/August are typically slow months for me with a combination of light nights that people want to get out & enjoy & holiday time even though it's maybe staycations this year. Last year I booked in a couple of hosts & did some summer agricultural shows to keep things ticking over - which is just not feasible this year.

So what's the way forward? Thinking smarter, contacting those charities who have seen fundraising & donations plummet, contacting professional services - they often need some CPD, The puppy boom - there are so really should learn Dog First Aid but how do they know about us? I've been offering breeders cards for puppy packs, I have cards with local vets for puppy packs, I contact local trainers about hosting & if they are too busy then ask if I can leave some cards or if they can share a post.

It's a time for all businesses to help each other - I offer a share your business once a month on my page but am looking at giving those who have done my course the opportunity of a shoutout Saturday where they get access to post on my social media - a video / blog / post. I've also been asked to do a Q&A blog for a pet photographer & am working with a trainer & her new training facility and a Touch practitioner. We have all suffered and building a strong network is great - everyone knows someone with a dog.

Wishing all my colleagues the very best for a positive recovery - Catherine x
